This teddy bear is closing in on seventy years of age. My mother handcrafted his outfit, much like she did for many of the clothes my twin brother and I wore to school in our elementary days. I couldn't resist trying to capture the essense of antiquity in this painting.
About J P Childress
J.P. "Pat" Childress, a fifth generation Texan, was born and raised in the eastern oilfields of the state. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a M.B.A and after starting and later selling a holding company, Childress moved to the Hill Country of Texas. His interest in art is long standing; he constantly improves his techniques in oil painting and sculpting through workshops and classes with some of the most highly respected artists on today's art scene.
